Of 1,448 responses, 727 pet owners said they gave their pets CBD. Of these, 24% regularly gave their pet CBD, 14% gave it to their pet for specific healing purposes, and 12% had tried it in the past.
The survey found that 67% of respondents said CBD had caused moderate to significant improvement in their pets. 74% of respondents were likely or very likely to recommend CBD to other pet owners.
Alleviating anxiety and stress was the main reason people gave CBD to their pets, with 44% of respondents saying they used CBD for this purpose. 21% of respondents administered CBD for pain relief; 15% is used for general health; 14% as an anti-inflammatory; 5% for the treatment of an illness and 2% for other reasons (undisclosed).
Most pet owners report seeing at least some improvement in their pets after using CBD. 24% said they noticed minimal improvement in their cat or dog after incorporating CBD into their diet. 42% noticed a moderate improvement and 25% reported a big improvement. 8% saw no change and 1% reported a deterioration in their pet’s condition.
