Know who your children's teachers are

Dear Simi Parents: If you don’t already know who your children’s teachers are, find out.

I’m not suggesting you hire a private investigator or stalk them, but please ask kids about school, their teachers, what they learn (or don’t learn), go to back-to-school evenings, PTA meetings, check teacher info on Facebook and other social media, etc.

I realize most teachers can be great, but there are so many bad apples.

Please don’t be offended; I would like to remind parents of our responsibility.
