It’s that time of year when Jason Aldeanofficially transitions into full-time dad mode.
The holidays are extra special for him because of his two youngest children.
“Oh, it’s fun, you know?” he tells ABC Audio. “Memphis becomes 5 and Navy‘s 3. She’s almost 4. So it’s the perfect age for them, you know? And it’s great fun.”
“As a parent, you get excited to wake up and see them excited and doing all those things.”
When the Georgia native finally gets a year off the road, he’s focused on making up for lost time.
“For us, it’s about just spending some family time,” says Jason. “We are gone, I travel a lot all year round. So holidays are a time where I try to be home and spend as much time with them as possible, and kind of enjoy all those memories and things like that.
Jason won’t hit the road again until he heads to Scottsdale, Arizona on Feb. 9, but he’ll be playing New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash on CBS on Dec. 31.
