Heavy snowfall, high winds and deadly chills are expected

Hello, readers! The country is currently preparing for a winter storm that is expected to affect approximately 60% of the US population.

More than 200 million people are subject to various winter weather warnings for what the National Weather Service has described as a “once in a generation type event.”

“The ongoing major winter storm will continue to produce areas of heavy snow, strong winds and life-threatening wind chills through Saturday. If you are traveling for the holidays, please exercise extreme caution and exercise caution,” said the NWS on Friday.

Christmas travel is expected to be significantly impacted, with more than 3,100 flights in, in or out of the country already canceled on Friday. More than 350,000 homes and businesses were without power Friday morning.

FedEx has announcement that there will be delays in package delivery due to the severe winter storm that is spreading across the country.

In an announcement on Friday, the shipping company said its hubs in Memphis and Indianapolis had experienced “substantial disruptions.”

He added, “All FedEx Express locations were impacted by severe winter conditions and delays are expected for package deliveries across the United States with a delivery commitment through Monday, December 26.”

A multi-vehicle accident occurred on the Ohio Turnpike on Friday afternoon.

Alaska Airlines has suspended flights from Seattle-Tacoma Airport due to freezing rain and icy conditions.

The New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services coordinates state agency responses throughout the state.

So far, DHSES has deployed 1,487 generators, 985 pumps, 528 chainsaws, 250 light towers, as well as beds, pillows, blankets, water and MREs (ready-to-eat meals), announced the office of Hochul.

Heavy snowfall, high winds and deadly chills are expected

Hello, readers! The country is currently preparing for a winter storm that is expected to affect approximately 60% of the US population.

More than 200 million people are subject to various winter weather warnings for what the National Weather Service has described as a “once in a generation type event.”

“The ongoing major winter storm will continue to produce areas of heavy snow, strong winds and life-threatening wind chills through Saturday. If you are traveling for the holidays, please exercise extreme caution and exercise caution,” said the NWS on Friday.

Christmas travel is expected to be significantly impacted, with more than 3,100 flights in, in or out of the country already canceled on Friday. More than 350,000 homes and businesses were without power Friday morning.
