One of the Catherine O’Hara‘s biggest role was playing Kevin McCallister’s mother in the first two Home alone movies. More recently, she played Moira Rose in the hit series, Schitt’s Creek, who was also a mother of two children. “It’s great to play a realized mom because it’s one of the most important roles in life,” she shared Variety in a 2020 interview about playing Moira.
As her statement above suggests, Catherine, 68, is also a mother in real life. She shares two sons, Mathew and Lukewith her husband of 30 years, Bob Welch. Fun fact: Bo and Catherine met on the set of Beetle juice in 1988! Read more about their descendants below.

Matthew Welch
Matthew Welch, the eldest son of Catherine and Bo, was born in 1994. Matthew has managed to stay out of the limelight all his life impressively. Therefore, not much is known about him. However, he seemed to inherit his mother’s creativity as he worked on set Schitt’s Creek together with his brother for an unknown time, according to Catherine’s chat in May 2020 Vanity purse. One worked as a set maker while the other helped build the sets.
Although her children worked on her set, Catherine apparently couldn’t spend much time with them. She even admitted that she was jealous of Moira for seeing her children so often. “I always wonder where my kids are,” she said Time in March 2019. The Golden Globe winner was always a working mom, and some of her most notable movies to book while raising kids are the 1996 ones Waiting for Guffmann2000s Best in showyears 2003 A strong windand that of 2006 Penelope.

Luke Welch
Catherine gave birth to Luke Welch in 1997, and he is her and Bo’s second and youngest child. Like his brother, he is a very private person and has no known public social media profiles.
Fans do know that both Luke and Matthew are hilarious together, which Catherine revealed during a 2007 interview with The Toronto star. “They’re very funny and we encourage it,” she noted. “The eldest does Warners cartoons — really old-fashioned, cheesy — a funny vaudeville thing. And the little one does word games. I can proudly say that we all make each other laugh.”
